Kids growing up TOO fast?

In the past few months I have seen how my toddlers have become more verbal and looking for ways to express themselves.
I understand that this development occurs at their own time, however being a part of setting up the environment for them to learn and nourish their development is awesome. Every day I come up with different actives for them and games to play but the best way of learning seems to be through singing and dancing. They now are all aware of their body parts because of the "head, shoulders, knees" song. I do the movements with them and it is cute how they begin to try them out for themselves.
One issue with education in the current system is that children are forced upon learning academics in a structured way from an early age. This means that the playful methods of learning are ignored and children are forced into "growing up" faster. There is too much emphasis put into learning everything as fast as they can, because of preparing them for the world of COMPETITION.
What I am learning in my college is to prepare activities and games so that the children can learn through engaging in the play and have fun. This method however is not widely accepted especially when children begin to enter kindergarten. Creating activities takes time and extra effort outside of the work time. It seems that it is much easier to print out a worksheet and put on a movie like "Blues Clues". Unfortunately many teachers will pick the worksheets over making a fun activity. Perhaps because of lack of motivation, or because of personal issues.
A good teacher will be willing to go the extra mile to create a fun learning environment. And in an EMS that will be a must. It will also be motivational because the teacher will have themselves grounded and putting their attention into the learning of children.
Another issue I would like to address that creates lack of motivation in teachers is the long working hours and that it takes time off spending time with their families.
To create a motivational environment for teachers, the correct amount of hours should be made available. There needs to be time for planning and time for implementing the planning. The hours have to be such that no work/planning should be taken outside of work time and that spending time with the children is no more than 4 hours.
Working 9 hours with toddlers can drive a person nuts. After a certain amount of time I am "spent" and need to get away until the next day when I come in "refreshed". But why put a person into working 9 hours (and the pay ain't that great)? Because of money. It is cheaper to have one person working a long day than have 2 people come in and split the shift.
In EMS hour distribution will be fair!
